A brace from Juventus star Arturo Vidal has moved the Turin side closer to retaining the Serie A for the second consecutive season after clinching a 0-2 win at the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday.
The win means Juve extend their gap at the top of the table over Napoli to 11 points with only six games to play, while Lazio's chances of qualifying for a Champions League place evaporated with the loss.
Conte's men on the other hand battled supremely to overcome the disappointment of exiting the Champions League at the hands of Bayern Munich only a few days earlier and the three points seemed all but guranteed after only the first half an hour.
The first chance of the match though fell to Lazio's Hernanes, who drew a brilliant save from Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, after the Brazilian's shot went through a heap of legs.
Only 8 minutes had elapsed when Juve drew first blood, and it was a clumsy foul by the inexperienced Lorik Cana on Mirko Vucinic in the area, which allowed Vidal to step up and fire home to net his first goal since November.
The Montenegrin striker went close to doubling his side's lead on 20 minutes, but Italy's 2010 World Cup custodian Frederico Marchetti denied the former with a good diving save.
The Bianconeri were not to be denied for much longer though when Cana diverted a Claudio Marchisio cross into the path of Vidal, with the Chilean firing home from close range.
The away side took control of the game and were wasteful in front of goal, with Paul Pogba missing two chances before the break.
Lazio boss Vladimir Petkovic seemed to spur his players on at half time, and they responded in the second half as both Miroslav Klose and Ederson threatened Buffon's goal at the beginning of the second half.
Ederson and Libor Kozak then linked up well to allow the latter to head wide of the goal, with Buffon seemingly beaten.
Kozak fluffed another chance to get one back from the biancocelesti, but he could only direct his low cross wide of Buffon's post.
Klose was to miss his final shot in stoppage time to the frustration of the home fans and the delight of the travelling contingent, with both going home conscious of Juve's virtually unassailable lead at the top of the standings.
