Argentina's national team coach Alejandro Sabella is on a mission with a European tour where has reunited with his colleague at FC Barcelona, Pep Guardiola to discuss various topics.

According to reports from Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo, the meeting was held for approximately 40 minutes at the Ciudad Deportiva in Sant Joan Despí. Further details were discussed but not revealed to the media although there was speculation that fundamentally the talks were directed upon Lionel Messi and his roles with both club and country.

The current captain of the Argentine national side was suspended in his club's 3-1 La Liga win at the Camp Nou last weekend to bottom-placed Sporting Gijón.

Sabella himself expressed his delight at the hat-trick Messi also scored last week in mid-week international duty against Switzerland in a friendly. "Messi is finally showing his capabilities on the pitch on par with his brilliant performances for his club", affirmed the national team boss.

Staying in Europe for the month to reunite with various respective club coaches to monitor the vast array of players available for national team call-up, Sabella also affirmed to reporters about his admiration for coach Guardiola and would like "ask several questions regarding his management skills".

Last weekend, Sabella was present for the Rome derby between Lazio and fierce rivals Roma. The coach expressed interest in the recovery of Roma defender Nicolás Burdisso, still out of action whilst also speaking with the club's Spanish coach Luis Enrique.

On Wednesday, it was Mauricio Pochettino's turn to meet Sabella as the Espanyol coach was reported to be "open and cooperative". Another coach on the list to meet up is another countryman in Diego Simeone, current boss at Atlético Madrid.
