Central Coast Mariners have come from two goals down to a very young Gold Coast United side to share the points at Skilled Park on Wednesday night.

The Mariners however opened the scoring on 4 minutes. Tomas Rogic’s ball was deflected off Zac Anderson and the ball fell for Adam Kwasnik for the easiest of finishes.

But five minutes later Golgol Mebrahtu was fouled inside the box by Rostyn Griffiths after a great run. Chris Harold stepped up and buried the penalty to equalise.

Gold Coast however came back to take the lead when Ben Halloran on 17 minutes scored a contender of Goal of the Season. The 19-year-old ran through the middle of the park before shooting from the edge of the box. Justin Pasfield got a hand but the strike had enough power behind to nestle into the corner.

Eleven minutes into the second stanza Gold Coast doubled their lead thanks to a debut A-League goal to Mitch Cooper. The captain on Friday night on his debut with Michael Thwaite out was found be Halloran before squeezing it into the corner.

But only three minutes later Bernie Ibini grabbed one back for the visitors as the Nigerian born forward thumped it past Jerrad Tyson.

And on 66 minutes Kwasnik equalised to make it 3-3 and to grab his brace with a fine header.

With three minutes left Patrick Zwaanswijk could have won it but his header missed the target by inches.

To make things worse for Gold Coast United the crowd was announced as just 1,141, which is the new lowest A-League total.
