Roberto Mancini adamant that Carlos Tevez will remain at Manchester City

After securing a spot in the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history, Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is confident that star man Carlos Tevez will see out his contract at the club.

There has been speculation surrounding the club captain’s future recently, with the reigning European and World Champions Inter keen to sign the Argentine.

Despite the rumours, Mancini is sure that Tevez will stay true to the five-year contract he recently signed with the English club.

“I think Carlos Tevez will stay here next season. He’s on a five-year contract. It’s simple.”

Along with securing their passage to Europe, Mancini also led the club to their first piece of silverware in 35 years, as the Eastlands’ outfit edged out Stoke City 1-0 to clinch this season’s FA Cup.

The Italian tactician still feels that he and his players need to improve further however, in order to remain competitive next season.

“It’s been a fantastic season. I must thank all the players. I know only one-way: work hard. And believe in ourselves, always,” he added.

“We need more time to improve. This is another step, but we want to take more. This is really important. I think this is only the beginning for us.”
