|Lucas Neill focusing only on Australia & not big money offer from UAE champions Al Jazira|
Australian captain Lucas Neill is fully focused on his side’s task at hand this week, as the Socceroos square off against Wales in an international friendly Thursday morning.
The 33-year-old was released by Galatasaray, along with fellow Aussie Harry Kewell, two months ago, and has since been linked to a number of clubs from all around the world.
Gulf News recently reported that UAE champions Al Jazira are the most interest club, and are willing to make a lucrative offer, although Neill is doing his best to keep his mind on the job this week.
“This week it's all about Australia,” Neill affirmed in a pre-match press conference in Cardiff.
“I’d imagine from Thursday, within the next couple of days after that Wales game, I’m pretty confident something will be sorted.
“It’s part of a footballer's career sometimes. I’ve been in this situation before and you’ve got to stay mentally strong and be a little bit patient.
“Obviously I’d love to be well and truly focused, having my goals set and working towards them. I'm just rolling with the punches, it’s been a difficult off-season for everybody and transfers, not just myself.
“For me it’s just about somewhere I know I’m going to fit in, play a lot of games, look after my body, and still being able to give my best for Australia.”
